Who we are
For Llew it began as a concern for his parents. While his siblings were watching cartoons, Llew was watching documentaries on how wine was made in different wine regions around the world. This concern soon became relief when he made it his major in college and became a leader in the industry for adopting/implementing obscure and sometimes forgotten methods of making some of the country’s best drinks. His career forever changed in 2022 when he realized the industry focused too much on market share and margins, frequently opting for the cheapest and easiest production methods with the most mass appeal. Pratum was started in opposition to the idea that marketing and finance departments should be dictating what is best for the wine, the land, and the community.
With Alyssa being a Walla Walla native, she has always been surrounded by quality wine and quality people. What drove her to pursue a career in hospitality was the hospitality that she received from establishments in the community. She began her career at one of Walla Walla’s most prestigious wineries where she was able to grow her love for wine and providing exceptional experiences for guests. From there, Alyssa furthered her hospitality career by growing into the Tour Relations Manager at Maker’s Mark Distillery where she led a team to provide unreasonable hospitality for every guest that walked through their door. Now, Alyssa looks forward to creating memorable moments with every guest hosted at Pratum.
